How can you build a house that should offer you the urban comfort while respecting the scale of a rural village found near Bucharest?
By dividing up into more volumes, the proposed solution is to keep a scale that is specific to a village. The materials used are wood, lime plaster, gray lamina anthracite, wood carpentry. The ground floor was thought as an open space which features the dinning place as it’s center piece. The kitchen is placed relating to the open space while the living room is facing south and benefits from generous windows and a covered terrace that opens to the garden.
The visual continuity between the interior and the exterior is obtained by placing the windows to relate with the interior function and through the proposed exterior terrace.
The challenge of this project is to create a contemporary house with an image that reminisces of a traditional atmosphere.
