The energy audit is an analysis and an evaluation of the main thermal and energy characteristics of the construction and its equipment. The energy audit evaluates and rates a building in terms of energy consumption. The evaluation is summarized in an energy performance certificate which includes the main thermal and energy characteristics of the construction and its related equipment. Essentially, the building is rated with a grade from A (best) to F (poorest).
