Construction Site Inspectorate Authorization

The Construction Site Inspectorate (ISC) authorization is generally required in the case of existing buildings for which a structural assessment is essential. The permit issued by the ISC approves the proposed solutions for structural intervention or, where applicable, the consolidation solutions.

The documentation submitted for obtaining the ISC approval contains the architectural project, the architectural surveys, structural surveys, the structure’s technical expertise, geotechnical studies, laboratory test results, the assessment and classification of the building in terms of seismic risk, the recommendations for intervention.

The approval can also be requested in case of new buildings that adhere to the blind wall. When this is the case, the expert assesses the impact of the new construction on the existing, neighboring building.
